yeovil town
born in truro, cornwall, alcock started career yeovil town youth system in 2004. @ start of 2005–06 season alcock awarded first team contract along fellow youth teammates tom clarke , jake smeeton. due being over-age playing in youth side yeovil town, had 3 short-term loan spells in 2006–07 season conference south side weston-super-mare, southern league sides taunton town , tiverton town. made first team debut substitute away @ gillingham in final league match of 2006–07 season.
after making breakthrough , challenging number 1 right slot in 2007–08 season, alcock became regular starter during 2008–09 season due injuries , suspensions concerning lee peltier. in may 2009, alcock signed new 2-year contract yeovil town, , after new captain stefan stam dropped due injury , poor form, alcock made captain remainder of season.
in summer 2010, alcock linked move championship side norwich city remained yeovil remainder of season , in may 2011 informed club 1 of 7 yeovil players awarded new contracts.
peterborough united
despite being offered new deal @ yeovil, in july 2011 alcock signed peterborough united on three-year deal yeovil receiving £100,000 in compensation due age. alcock made 112 appearances posh in competitions on 3 seasons @ club, including winning football league trophy in 2014, before being released @ end of 2013–14 season.
sheffield united
in july 2014, alcock signed two-year deal sheffield united. alcock started regular in side both @ centre half , in more customary role @ right back. however, after injury has found himself in more peripheral role, made harder january arrivals of additional full backs kieron freeman , john brayford. in second season @ united, alcock again found match time hard come by, , result joined fellow league 1 side doncaster rovers on 28-day loan on 10 november 2015. loan made permanent on 7 january 2016.
