the english species, b. dioica (white bryony), grows in hedgerows far north yorkshire.


bryonia used food plant larvae of lepidoptera (butterflies , moths), including tortrix moth phtheochroa rugosana (recorded on red bryony, b. dioica) , cabbage moth (mamestra brassicae).
