ivano-frankivsk home number of sports teams. notably home football club fc spartak ivano-frankivsk (prykarpattya) participated on national level since 1950s. since 2007 club fields youth team spartak-93 , competes in children-youth football league of ukraine. former president of spartak anatoliy revutskiy reorganized local university (university of nafty hazu) team in 2007 new fsk prykarpattia support of city mayor anushkevichus making main football club in region , replacing spartak. during interbellum period, city home football club based on local polish garrison , called rewera stanisławów (1908). club competed @ regional level had evolved @ period. start of world war ii club disbanded. during soviet period among several others there club elektron participated @ regional level around 1970s.
the city home futsal team, pfc uragan ivano-frankivsk, competes in ukrainian futsal championship. current ukrainian champions having won 2010/11 season playoffs , therefore took part in 2011–12 uefa futsal cup first time. city had ice hockey team, hc vatra ivano-frankivsk, played in ukrainian hockey championship.
ivano-frankivsk hometown of ukrainian gymnasts 1 of them dariya zgoba won gold on uneven bars in 2007 european championships finalist on beijing olympics , – yana demyanchuk, won gold on balance beam @ 2009 european championships.
