the brindled beauty has wingspan of 4–5 cm. large-bodied furry moth, has pattern provides near-perfect camouflage on tree trunks , gives moth name.the forewing ground colour grey black dusting.there curved anterior , curved exterior cross line limiting midfield. hindwings grey , have 2 or 3 crosslines. females have pale yellow suffusion on wings , front edges of forewings paler. males show large comb-like antennae.
