in netherlands 1 must complete medical school after 1 certified medical doctor. after strict selection program 1 can specialize in psychiatry: 4.5 year specialization. during specialization, resident has 6-month residency in field of social psychiatry, 12-month residency in field of own choice (which can child psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, somatic medicine or medical research). become adolescent psychiatrist, 1 has specialization period of 2 more years. in short means takes @ least 10.5 years of study become psychiatrist can go 12.5 years if 1 becomes children s , adolescent psychiatrist.
