the youth performing arts festival of national theater, held every april until may, festival youth. theme ‘youth embracing sky,’ festival contributes fostering positive emotions of youth through programs allowing experience of traditional dance music, musicals, mime, plays , dance of both korean , international classics. in 2008 when first festival held, journey folksong suksun ahn performed youth , multi-cultural families in culturally neglected areas. youth performing arts festival signature event of national theater, goal of inspiring future leaders of society , performing arts.

the world festival of national theaters

starting in 2007, world festival of national theaters takes place september october every year. festival promotes mutual understanding of cultures every country, whereby korean audiences can enjoy many excellent domestic , overseas performances. @ same time national theater of korea can better solidify position center of performing arts in korea. performances representing national theaters of various nations on stage additional events shows , exhibitions. national theaters, embassies , cultural centers of every country gather here active cultural , artistic communication. world festival of national theaters biggest festival hosted national theater of korea , considered 1 of greatest festivals in korea.

the saturday cultural plaza

since 1993, saturday cultural plaza oldest open air performance national theater. various concerts , performances such ballets, concerts of contemporary music , orchestra concerts held in open air cultural plaza every may september, on saturdays @ 6:00pm. far, 350 thousand people have visited saturday cultural plaza. 2002 2007 plaza sponsored renault-samsung motors , starting in 2008 kb kookmin bank, received mecenat award in 2008. activity aspires serve model of partnership between art , business.

midday concert

the midday concert designed show potential of traditional classical music public can understand korean music’s past , present. folksongs, contemporary music, , original sound tracks of soap operas , films rearranged , modernized national orchestra. commentaries on each work artistic director byeongki hwang in order enrich concert’s content.
