15th: round 2 v brisbane roar @ sydney football stadium, results in sydney fc s first loss of season, going down 2–0 defending premiers & champions brisbane. goals besart berisha , thomas broich either side of half time allowed roar win 30th consecutive game without defeat.
22nd: round 3 v adelaide united @ hindmarsh stadium results in sydney breaking goal drought, , winning first game of season, come behind 2–1 victory. dario vidosic put reds ahead after mistake defender michael beauchamp, second half goals jamie coyne, , nick carle allowed sydney post first 3 points of season.
29th: round 4 v melbourne heart @ aami park sees sydney fc salvage 1–1 draw in dying seconds of injury time. scrappy affair played in torrential rain, both sides failed take chances. heart opening scoring 5 minutes play through brazilian striker maycon. sydney replied through nick carle scored second goal of season, right @ death.

12th: round 6 v perth glory @ nib stadium sees sydney win second game on trot, 1–0 win. striker mark bridge giving visitors 3 points after converting low cross nick carle. win moves sydney fc 2nd position on ladder, @ time 2 points behind reigning premiers & champions, , undefeated in 2011–12 team brisbane.
19th: round 7 v central coast mariners @ sydney football stadium results in 3–2 loss sky blues, ending 4-game unbeaten streak. mariners opened scoring bullet free kick via dutch import patrick zwaanswijk before extending lead mid way 2nd half through new zealand international michael mcglinchey. nick carle pulled 1 back, scoring 4th goal of season, , short time looked repeat of 3–2 heroics against gold coast fortnight earlier, hopes quashed when mariners striker troy hearfield put third past liam reddy. in dying minutes, brett emerton fouled near box, , skillfully put free kick up, , around wall, scoring first competitive goal in sydney fc shirt.
27th: round 8 v wellington phoenix @ westpac stadium, wellington, new zealand results in second consecutive loss sky blues, going down 2–1 time new zealand club wellington phoenix. wellington 2–0 goals through paul ifill , tim brown, before sydney s bruno cazarine picked 2nd goal of season consolation goal in 70th minute. loss means sydney drop further place down in ladder fourth, allowing rivals central coast mariners , melbourne victory move 2nd , 3rd respectively after won games.

4th: round 9 v brisbane roar @ jubilee oval, carlton in sydney s south-east ends sydney fc defeating brisbane 2–0, ending current defending premiers & champions 36-game winning streak, record in australian sport. goal, after 36 seconds young striker dimitri petratos got sydney underway. marquee man brett emerton got flukey second goal corner kick midway through first half, wind took , blew brisbane goal, despite best efforts goalkeeper michael theoklitos , former sydney fc defender matthew jurman. loss ends sydney s 2-game losing streak, , moves them 3rd position behind central coast mariners.
7th: sydney fc supposed playing perth glory @ campbelltown stadium, leumeah part of a-league s regional round. however, match postponed until further notice due perth glory being unable fly out perth airport due heavy storm activity in area prevented planes arriving or departing , airport. due long distance between sydney , perth, glory unable fly next morning.
11th: round 10 v gold coast united @ skilled park robina on gold coast ends disappointing 0–0 draw sky blues, against gold coast united outfit sitting last on a-league ladder. game marred post game, when revealed sydney fc defender shannon cole fined club, after being found guilty of diving, breaching clubs no tolerance policy regarding simulation, frowned upon world governing body fifa , fans world wide.
17th: round 11 v newcastle jets @ ausgrid stadium, newcastle results in come-from-behind victory against sydney s northern new south wales rivals. jets scored first after dominating first half hour of game via strike new zealand international jeremy brockie before sydney fc clawed way game. brazilian striker bruno cazarine leveled scoreline, 19 minutes second half, after smart cross karol kisel in front of goal, followed simple header finnish striker juho makela on 84 minutes. game marked debut of youth player mitchell mallia came on substitute in second half.

29th: round 13 v melbourne heart @ sydney football stadium, moore park brought sydney fc s largest crowd of season far final game of year. however, not happy time sky blues, dominated opening whistle. despite showing promise through brazilian bruno cazarine, heart opened scoring through eli babalj in 32nd minute. heart doubled advantage right on stroke of half time, through mate dugandzic. game on sydney fc when jason hoffman made 3–0. heart s brazilian striker alex terra have laugh last in dying minutes of game when made 4–0 after sydney fc goalkeeper dropped ball right in front of him, in eagerness ball field after intercepting cross, terra calmly dribbled ball goal line before booting in net, ending rout , painful 90 minutes harbour team. loss see wellington leapfrog them 4th, sydney dropping 5th.

4th: round 14 – big wednesday v wellington phoenix @ westpac stadium, wellington, new zealand saw sydney travel cake-tin second time season, in hope of burying memories of previous game win. however, not despite sydney fc getting scoring underway via penalty brett emerton. goals daniel, dani sanchez, ben sigmund , paul ifill see sydney fc concede 4 goals second week in row. bruno cazaerine added 2nd goal sydney in second half, nothing more mere consolation goal, team struggling find @ consistency @ back, or in front of goal.
8th: round 15 v central coast mariners @ sydney football stadium, moore park saw short turn around of 4 days after mid-week round, , had sydney fc facing table topping mariners in considered crucial game sydney coach vitezslav lavicka revealed had 4-weeks remaining turn season around, or face inevitable axing once season had finished. passing of 1 of sydney s loyal fans, doggadog remembered minutes silence before game, expected sydney lift , play hard against south nsw derby rivals start. however, not case, sydney struggling find cohesion within themselves, , has been story many games season, went behind first through central coast s birthday boy oliver bozanic given room , buried ball in net. second half show better performance sydney fc, having best part of possession , chances, mariners defence held strong, , score remained same until final whistle, leaving sydney 1 point last 5 games.

19th: community round v perth glory @ campbelltown stadium, leumeah saw sydney play perth month later planned. due 5:30 pm kick-off many fans unable attend. sydney fc took lead once more before half time interval, , once more sydney fans held breath in hope of taking away 3 points , kick starting season had seemingly stalled, having lost 5 on trot. however, scenes becoming familiar sydney s defence fell asleep in dying minutes of half, , conceded arguably soft goal corner, levelling scores @ 1–1, final whistle.
23rd: round 17 v gold coast united @ sydney football stadium, moore park. after 6 games without win, sydney fc got needed 3 points against gold coast team coming last on ladder. however, match started familiar scenes gold coast opening scoring through ben halloran in 55th minute, looked sydney fc never able control game 90 minutes. late comeback saw slovakian import karol kisel peg goal in 71st minute, before turning provider in 81st brazilian bruno cazarine in 89th minute. win moved sydney finals contention having dropped out of 6.
26th (australia day): round 18: v melbourne victory @ aami park, melbourne. city derby clash between sydney , melbourne brings excitement , entertaining football between 2 rival clubs, , game, billed on australia day no exception. both sydney , melbourne having poor seasons, , struggling make finals contention, , 3 points either side have done deal getting either team finals. melbourne victory looked team it, double blow before half time through isaka cernak , fabio gave hosts convincing 2-0 lead @ half time. melbourne s weakness season ability hold onto lead, , once again failed. bruno cazarine pegged goal sydney, scoring 2nd in many games, , 6th season, , right @ death free kick, former melbourne victory player sebastian ryall scored first ever professional goal, giving sydney hard earned , fought point away home.

5th: round 20: v newcastle jets @ sydney football stadium, moore park has sydney concede 5 goals first time in 4 years lost 5-2. first half goals former sydney fc players nikolai topor-stanley, ruben zadkovich , jeremy brockie see sydney fc slump 3-0 deficit @ half time. second half saw small comeback fought, hirofumi moriyasu , michael beauchamp scoring first goals of season bring 3-2, 2 further late goals brockie , ali abbas al-hilfi gave sydney loss nobody expected.
11th: round 21: v perth glory @ sydney football stadium, moore park has sydney win tightly fought contest, fourth home win of season. after being locked in 0-0 @ half time, stand in captain suspended terry mcflynn, brett emerton scored opener firing home cross karol kisel. emerton turned scorer provider, when set cross saw bruno cazarine header ball danny vukovic push ball roof of net, scoring 7th of season. perth got late consolation goal through billy mehmet sydney held out win 2-1.
