in july 2005, bronx news reported gloria wise boys , girls club of co-op city loaned $480,000 progress media, owner of air america radio. actual amount later determined city of new york department of investigations $875,000. city has suspended further funding of agency, , boys , girls clubs of america has revoked group s right use name, likeness or logo. @ time funds alleged have been transferred, evan montvel cohen, former chairman of now-defunct progress media, director of development gloria wise. apparently part of general misappropriation of funds board of directors, saw several of them receiving money organization in turn used personal expenditures.


in response report, air america radio s new owners, piquant llc, issued press release stating alleged mismanagement , corruption @ gloria wise boys , girls club absolutely disgraceful. in addition, press release stated although piquant had no obligation progress media s business activities , piquant had agreed months ago compensate gloria wise boys & girls club result of transaction . while gloria wise boys , girls club remained under investigation, air america repaid loan.
