Tourism Pyongyang Metro

in general, tourism in north korea allowed in guided groups no diversion allowed pre-planned itineraries. foreign tourists used allowed travel between puhŭng station , yŏnggwang station. however, foreign students allowed freely use entire metro system. since 2010 tourists have been allowed ride metro @ 6 stations. university students traveling pyongyang project have reported visiting every station.

as of 2014, possible tourists on special public transport tours take metro rides through both lines, including visits stations. in april 2014, first tourist group visited stations on both metro lines, , expected such extended visits both metro lines remain possible future tourist groups.

the limited tourist access gave rise conspiracy theory metro purely show. claimed consisted of 2 stops , passengers actors.

museum

pyongyang metro has own museum. large portion of collection related president kim il-sung providing on-the-spot guidance workers constructing system. among exhibits special funicular-like vehicle president used descend station under construction (it rode down inclined tunnels used escalators), , railbus in rode around system.
