the highlighed windows show location of chapel in east wing


during construction of original palace building, decided there should chapel in east wing. explains why there no indication of chapel outside. covers space behind 6 central windows on ground floor.


wilhelm friedrich von platen , ernst brandenburger designed chapel in baroque style. inaugurated on 31 march 1710. when palace taken on officers academy, chapel s furnishings, including impressive pulpit, transferred elsewhere. however, returned in 1930s , can still seen there today.


the palace , chapel can visited. contain imposing stucco work, ceiling paintings, elegant marble bathroom secret access staircase, , princesses pancake kitchen. in 1854, british mp s. m. peto gave altar window king of demark chapel; window designed sculptor john thomas , executed ballantine , allan of edinburgh.


since 1932, chapel has been used local parish church.
