muscles
e/i refers extrinsic or intrinsic . intrinsic muscles of forearm act on forearm, meaning, across elbow joint , proximal , distal radioulnar joints (resulting in pronation or supination, whereas extrinsic muscles act upon hand , wrist. in cases, extrinsic anterior muscles flexors, while extrinsic posterior muscles extensors.
the brachioradialis, flexor of forearm, unusual in located in posterior compartment, in anterior portion of forearm.
the anconeus considered part of posterior compartment of arm.
nerves
(see separate nerve articles details on divisions proximal elbow , distal wrist; see brachial plexus origins of median, radial , ulnar nerves)
median nerve – interior nerve of anterior compartment (pt, fcr, pl, fds).
anterior interosseous nerve (supplies fpl, lat. 1/2 of fdp, pq).
radial nerve – supplies muscles of posterior compartment (ecrl, ecrb).
superficial branch of radial nerve
deep branch of radial nerve, becomes posterior interosseus nerve , supplies muscles of posterior compartment (ed, edm, ecu, apl, epb, epl, ei).
ulnar nerve - supplies medial muscles (fcu, med. 1/2 of fdp).
