champlain college s upside down curriculum allows students take in-depth courses in major starting in first semester.

undergraduate education

champlain awards bachelor s degrees in on 30 fields of study, including computer , digital forensics, , radiography. of popular undergraduate programs include business, graphic design, , electronic game programming.

starting class of 2011, general education taught in form of interdisciplinary core curriculum. each course brings 3 or 4 discrete disciplines use of various literature , open-ended discussion topics. first-year courses focus on self, second-year on community, , third year on global topics. through courses such rhetoric, concepts of self, , concepts of community, students gain background in liberal arts , sciences.

in fall of 2008, incoming students began participate in out-of-the-classroom life skills program. life skills program, called life experience , action dimension or lead, part of champlain s education in 3-d initiative. lead aims build knowledge in 4 areas: understanding personality styles, building inclusive community, lifelong career management, , financial sophistication. knowledge intended enable students adapt changing environments, make decisions in difficult situations, , pursue short , long-term goals successfully. lead requirements completed outside of class in groups led student peer advisers. groups established based on live on campus (commuters in group of own). completion of lead activities required in order students register classes next semester.
