in 1899 parker resigned managing director of thomas parker ltd. moved london, consulting engineer metropolitan railway company, involved in electrification of underground railway. neasden power station opened in 1904 part of project. parker stayed in london until retirement in 1908.


in 1904 invented new smokeless fuel, marketed coalite. in 1936 parker posthumously awarded gold medal smoke abatement society this.


in 1905 actively promoted decimal system of own creation, based on english weights, measures , currency.
