early years

steve norman born in stepney, east london , considered musical child prodigy. started pursuing interest in popular music guitarist in dame alice owen s school band called cut gary kemp, tony hadley , john keeble in 1976. band later named makers, gentry , spandau ballet.

spandau ballet signed chrysalis records. third spandau ballet album, norman brought percussion mix , introduced alto saxophone, has since become signature instrument. spandau ballet, norman toured globe , continued have hits throughout 1980s. in 1985 norman appeared band @ live aid @ wembley stadium.

because of dispute on royalties, band split in 1990s. after 20-year hiatus, newspaper reports claimed in 2009 spandau ballet set reform later year. on 25 march 2009, norman, gary kemp, martin kemp, tony hadley , john keeble announced reunion @ press conference on board hms belfast. band announced reformation tour starting in october 2009.

norman co-wrote song once more became first new spandau ballet single in 20 years.

in 1990s after band went separate ways, norman moved ibiza , took time off performing. during time on island, norman collaborated numerous musicians , producers lived there, including lenny krarup, nacho sotomayor, stefan zauner , dj pippi. norman worked rafa peletey on various projects, including funky jack s saxomatic percussion mix. norman sourced , compiled music made in ibiza chills n thrills compilation album , co-compiled journey through savannah peletey record label, island pulse records.

norman continued play live @ house music events throughout uk , on international club scene, performing saxophone, or percussion alongside such musicians byron stingily of ten city, frankie knuckles, angie brown, steve edwards, alison limerick, jeremy healy , brandon block. norman formed partnership hed kandi, dj john jones , martin ikin soul purpose called collective . first production re-working of joe smooth s promised land featuring peyton on lead vocals , shelley preston (formerly of bucks fizz) on backing vocals. in 2013, norman played on 3 tracks on bruce foxton s album, in room. played on james stevenson s album s getting closer being on released in 2014.

norman has performed @ various concerts in aid of prince s trust charity. played @ free nelson mandela concert years later along tony hadley.

in 2001, norman , rafa peletey formed production team called cloudfish , invited shelley preston provide vocals. result, cloudfish became band norman, preston , peletey writing , producing own songs. peletey left in 2003 front own band, joining norman , preston time time.

cloudfish have continued write, produce , perform , featured artists on eponymous cd of italian quintet, quintessenza. cloudfish sold out number of concerts including 1 @ ronnie scott s. song high included on cd compilation, dome ibiza: chillout session vol. 2.
