after successful reception of evil dead, raimi announced direct comedy film entitled relentless. coen brothers wrote script film, raimi didn t initially, although bruce campbell stated script amazing comparing alfred hitchcock. however, after revisions, irvin shapiro stated title not good, raimi changed title xyz murders, after many changes film released in 1986 crimewave.
