construction of highway 105 (the trans-canada highway) between north sydney , canso causeway in 1960s resulted in re-routing of cabot trail tourism traffic. cabot trail advertised start , end-point in baddeck, bypassing traditional western approach cabot trail through judique, port hood, inverness , margaree harbour, , decreasing tourism traffic on ceilidh trail.
