specific temperature @ specific pressure @ large groups of micelles begin precipitate out quasi-separate phase. temperature raised above cloud point causes distinct surfactant phase form densely packed micelle groups known aggregates. phase separation reversible separation controlled enthalpy (promotes aggregation/separation) above cloud point, , entropy (promotes miscibility of micelles in water) below cloud point. cloud point equilibrium between 2 free energies.
