why (world heritage & youth)

world heritage & youth (why) flagship project of volunteer service. main goal bring focus importance of tradition. project involves volunteers in various programs , conferences concerning cultural preservation. 1 example of sort of issues tackled why project debate regarding construction of okhta center, 1 of criticized building projects proposed in contemporary saint petersburg. many volunteers have reacted negatively potential construction. stressing importance of preserving historic center of saint petersburg, program actively involved in discussion surrounding controversial project.

since 2005 volunteer service of state hermitage has been hosting contests students in field of information technology. every year volunteer service develops , organizes contests nmo school center. theme of contest depends on hermitage museum exhibitions , events. contest includes special educational programs participants aged 6 17 years, staff of volunteers , informatics teachers, , official awards ceremony. types of competition entries include animations, multimedia performances, , computer arts. winning entries displayed on monitors in halls of museum.
