upon motion of @ least 2 hundred thousand electors
upon motion of president of republic, government or 1 hundred thousand electors.

the constitution imposes number of prohibitions on matters on referendum can held, including amending constitution, budget, taxing, obligations international agreements, military operations, etc. required voter turnout referendum valid 50%. decision made referendum binding on parliament. there 1 referendum in people s republic of hungary , there 5 referendums in modern (post-1989) hungary.
