republican john mica has represented 7th district since 1992. however, since florida supreme court s 2015 redistricting decision, florida s 7th district includes of seminole county , northern orange county, including downtown orlando, winter park, , main campus of university of central florida. in 2012, when mica ran re-election, won 59% of vote, smallest margin of victory in twenty years. mica ran re-election , wound unopposed in primary election after john morning ended campaign in november 2015.
