the 1935 nfl championship game held on december 15, 1935, @ university of detroit stadium (some sources call titan stadium) in detroit. game played in snowstorm in front of 12,000 spectators. 3rd annual title game nfl. champion of western division detroit lions (7–3–2) , champion of eastern division new york giants (9–3). on opening drive of game, lions glenn presnell threw 36-yard pass frank christensen, , ace gutowsky threw long pass ed klewicki @ giants 8-yard line. gutowsky ran ball end zone give lions 7–0 lead. lions scored again after christensen intercepted pass thrown new york s ed danowski , ran midfield. 3 plays later, dutch clark ran 40 yards touchdown. in fourth quarter, lions blocked punt, , george christensen recovered ball on giants 22-yard line. ernie caddel ran ball in one-yard line lions third touchdown. lions added lead late in game after parker intercepted pass new york quarterback (and former university of michigan star) harry newman on giants 45-yard line , returned nine-yard line. buddy parker ran touchdown lions won championship final score of 26–7.
