the memorial s plaque


the large bas-relief sculpture , memorial john f. kennedy installed in parking lot of grotto, catholic shrine , sanctuary formally known national sanctuary of our sorrowful mother, located @ northeast sandy boulevard , 85th avenue in portland s madison south neighborhood. created in 1965 unknown artist. plaque displays kennedy s profile, same seen on kennedy half dollar.


the memorial gifted multiple catholic organizations. condition deemed maintained smithsonian institution s save outdoor sculpture! program in july 1993. memorial administered national sanctuary of our sorrowful mother , has been included in published walking tours of portland.
