near end of 1996, band signed contract lazy dog records based in thessaloniki; in 1997, released first full-length studio album memory comes well-received independent press @ time. second release, nostalgia, appeared in august 1998 under lazy dog banner. raining pleasure had chance 2 of songs included in 2 compilations produced european collaboration of great radio stations. in 1998, 1 of issues of greek fanzine fractal press included 7 inch vinyl single including songs winters of waiting , love (both recorded during memories come sessions left out of record).

in fall 2000, raining pleasure signed contract chrysalis records, obtaining label imprint minos emi releases. made them 1 of relatively few english-speaking band in greece sign multinational record company (the short list includes closer, ziggy was, and, predating them both, last drive). however, no albums released chrysalis records while under contract , subsequent releases available in foreign markets imports. around april 2001, band recorded , released ep capricorn before returning studio record third full-length studio album, first major label.

raining pleasure gave series of successful concerts in greece, resulted them in supporting bands cure, pixies, dandy warhols , black rebel motorcycle club in greek shows.
