Description Greylag goose

the plumage of greylag goose greyish-brown, darker head , paler breast , belly variable amount of black spotting. has pale grey fore-wing , rump noticeable when bird in flight or stretches wings on ground. has white line bordering upper flanks, , wing coverts light-coloured, contrasting darker flight feathers. plumage patterned pale fringes of feathers. juveniles differ in lack of black-speckling on breast , belly , greyish legs. adults have distinctive concertina pattern of folds in feathers on necks.
the greylag goose has loud cackling call similar of domestic goose, aahng-ung-ung , uttered on ground or in flight. there various subtle variations used under different circumstances, , individual geese seem able identify other known geese voices. sound made flock of geese resembles baying of hounds. goslings chirp or whistle lightly, , adults hiss if threatened or angered.
