Evolution of the company logo Burger King advertising
the first burger king logo used text , introduced on 28 july 1953. first graphical representation of burger king character in occurred 1960s , called sitting king logo, burger king character shown sitting atop burger holding beverage. several versions produced; king shown either sitting atop hamburger or on inverted trapezoid company name along top , motto home of whopper below it. signs omitted king , had trapezoid. logo used in various forms until 1 may 1969 when burger king bun halves logo made debut, , has continued in use until present. logo resembles hamburger; 2 orange semi-circular buns surrounding name. on 1 may 1994 bk updated logo graphical tightening, replacing bulging font smoother font rounded edges.
the current blue crescent logo designed new york-based sterling group , made official debut on 1 july 1999. sterling group changed color of restaurant s name red burgundy, tilted bun halves , font on axis, used smaller bun motif , wrapped burger blue crescent, gave more circular appearance. restaurants did not acquire new signs, menus, , drive-thru ordering speakers until 2001. secondary signage updated new logo , sign posts repainted match blue coloring of new crescent, replacing original black.
