north of interchange m-153, (ford road), m-39 crosses detroit. there road continues through densely populated areas of west side of city. next chicago road overpass, freeway runs under csx transportation rail line. trunkline continues traveling north through series of interchanges. first partial interchange plymouth road; northbound traffic exiting here directed use service drive northbound access schoolcraft road, , traffic can enter m-39 southbound. next stack interchange i-96 (jeffries freeway) access both local , express lanes of freeway. last of series partial interchange schoolcraft road. counterpart plymouth road interchange, 1 provides access southbound m-39 cross street signed connection along southbound service drive plymouth road , entry point northbound traffic. continuing north, m-39 comes interchange m-5 (grand river avenue) connects fenkell avenue, 5 mile road equivalent on detroit s mile road system.
