trubschachen first mentioned in 1667 trueberschachen.
the municipality grew out of cluster of 6 farms along banks of ilfis river during middle ages. parishes of langnau im emmental , trub both claimed farm houses. in 1666 divided, 3 going each parish. settlement grew , situation in surrounding municipalities changed, farms far either municipality. in 1727 farms began exercise limited self-government, passing laws regarding poor , citizenship. in 1737 school opened in community, known schachen @ time. followed establishing village police force in 1773 , collecting taxes in 1775-77. einwohnergemeinde or citizen s community founded in 1852, though called innerer lauperswilviertel until 1867. became independent parish in 1874 , parish church built in 1890-92. political municipality created in 1923 parts of trub , langnau.
traditionally residents of area raised crops on valley floor. in 18th century began weaving canvas , processing milk cheese. first cheese factory opened in 1827 , 1900 there 5 in municipality. today number has shrunk two. in 1875, bern-lucerne railroad connected trubschachen growing swiss rail network , brought industry municipality. in 1910 kambly biscuit factory opened , became largest employer. other industries settled in area well. today tourism small, significant part of local economy , since 1964 painting exhibitions draw many tourists municipality.
in addition swiss reformed parish, various baptist congregations exist in trubschachen new apostolic congregation church 1947.
