currently, there 3 trkb isoforms in mammalian cns. full-length isoform (tk+) typical tyrosine kinase receptor, , transduces bdnf signal via ras-erk, pi3k, , plcγ. in contrast, 2 truncated isoforms (tk-: t1 , t2) possess same extracellular domain, transmembrane domain, , first 12 intracellular amino acid sequences tk+. however, c-terminal sequences isoform-specific (11 , 9 amino acids, respectively). t1 has original signaling cascade involved in regulation of cell morphology , calcium influx.
