the unitary plan wind tunnel (upwt) completed in 1956 @ cost of $27 million under unitary plan act of 1949. since completion, upwt facility has been heavily used nasa wind tunnel. every major commercial transport , every military jet built in united states on last 40 years has been tested in facility. mercury, gemini, , apollo spacecraft space shuttle models tested in tunnel complex.
