on january 18, 2017, bautista signed one-year, $18 million contract blue jays. contract included $17 million mutual option 2018 season, $20 million vesting option 2019. on august 11, bautista reached 20 home run mark eighth consecutive season. blue jays officially declined option 2018 on november 4.
