ion — combines tiling tabbing interface: display manually split in non-overlapping regions (frames). each frame can contain 1 or more windows. 1 of these windows visible , fills entire frame.
larswm — implements form of dynamic tiling: display vertically split in 2 regions (tracks). left track filled single window. right track contains other windows stacked on top of each other.
qtile — tiling window manager written, configurable , extensible in python.
ratpoison — keyboard-driven gnu screen x.
stumpwm — keyboard driven offshoot of ratpoison supporting multiple displays (e.g. xrandr) can customized on fly in common lisp. uses emacs-compatible keybindings default.
wmii — developed in prior dwm, same author. development has remained active.
xmonad — extensible wm written in haskell, both influenced , has since influenced dwm.
compiz — compositing window manager available usage without leaving familiar interfaces such ones gnome, kde or mate. 1 of plugins (called grid) allows user configure several keybindings move windows corner, 5 different lengths. there options configure default placement specific windows. plugins can configured through compiz config settings manager / ccsm.
spectrwm — small dynamic tiling , reparenting window manager x11. tries stay out of way valuable screen real estate can used more important stuff. has sane defaults , not require 1 learn language configuration. written hackers hackers , strives small, compact , fast.
