acute angle closure glaucoma - implies injury optic nerve potential irreversible vision loss may permanent unless treated quickly, result of increased pressure within eyeball. not forms of glaucoma acute, , not associated increased intra-ocular pressure.

keratitis - potentially serious inflammation or injury cornea (window), associated significant pain, light intolerance, , deterioration in vision. numerous causes include virus infection. injury contact lenses can lead keratitis.

iritis - ciliary body , choroid, iris makes uvea, part of middle, pigmented, structures of eye. inflammation of layer (uveitis) requires urgent control , estimated responsible 10% of blindness in united states.
scleritis - serious inflammatory condition, painful, can result in permanent vision loss, , without identifiable cause in half of presenting it. 30-40% have underlying systemic autoimmune condition.
episcleritis - mild, inflammatory disorder of white of eye unassociated eye complications in contrast scleritis, , responding topical medications such anti-inflammatory drops.
tick borne illnesses rocky mountain spotted fever - eye not involved, presence of conjunctivitis, along fever , rash, may diagnosis in appropriate circumstances.
