the area 1 of last undeveloped areas on oʻahu recognized rock formations, wild coastal beaches, threatened green sea turtles , endangered hawaiian monk seal habitats, whale spottings, traditional fishing areas, small local agricultural lots , hawaiian ancestral burial grounds.


the beach sandy swimming condition poor @ turtle bay because ocean bottom near shore rocky. there large limestone shelf spans entire length of bay. coastal underwater formations home 1 of beautiful limu (algae) found in islands. martensia fragilis grows on rocks in tide pools , on reef flats. iridescent species ranges light blue pink , orange in color.


about 5 miles (8.0 km) of beaches , 12 miles (19 km) of trails surround bay.
