executive

the governor, ferdinand waititu, head of county. he/she elected five-year term during general election. he/she has executive powers , appoints his/her county executive committee (cec) members on approval county assembly. although capital kiambu town, executive conducts business thika town.


legislature

the legislature of kiambu county unicameral county assembly. composed of 60 elected members of county assembly (mca) sixty wards of county , 27 nominated members. members hold office five-year term each, renewable during general election. speaker , deputy speaker of assembly elected mcas. county assembly located @ kiambu town.


judiciary

the kiambu high court established on june 20, 2016. of 2017, consists of one-judge bench. temporarily located @ thika waiting permanent building constructed @ kiambu, capital.


county administration

the county has county administrator appointed president of kenya. not part of county government representative of president assist matters of administration in county regards national government.
